'The experience of sound and music is universal, whether heard or felt through vibration, and it interests me to interpret this visually. Our world is vibrating, different materials at different frequencies, and it is this sense of energy that I aim to convey.'
Emmeline creates ephemeral moments of vibration and resonation captured in static forms of perspex, stainless steel and precious metals. They are tactile one-off sculptures and wearable pieces that play with optical effects to demonstrate a graduation of density and an illusion of movement. She has developed a process to explore this visual language, combining the layout of drilled holes and the surfaces the rods that fill them create. Emmeline explores how many elements can come together to create surfaces and forms of 'sound.' This relates to a scientific interest in the molecular structures of our surroundings and the energy that vibrates and maintains them. She envisages her work in domestic environments, gallery spaces,
as installations and public art.
